MSU ends use of DEI statements in hiring, tenure, citing federal compliance
Michigan State University has announced it will no longer use Diversity, Equity and Inclusion statements in job postings, hiring, evaluations, or promotion and tenure decisions. The latest update from MSU on DEI initiatives comes after The State News reported that the university removed DEI language from several of its websites pending a strategic review of MSU’s 2030 strategic plan.

Campbell Hall set to reopen in August following $37 million renovations
Campbell Hall is set to reopen its doors to MSU students this August, following the much needed renovations that are nearing completion. While there is not a specific date in place, Campbell Hall will open as part of MSU’s fall move-in process.
MSU to hold emergency exercise Tuesday to test campus preparedness
The Michigan State University Department of Police and Public Safety will conduct an emergency exercise on the east side of campus Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The training is part of MSU DPPS’s efforts to meet the standards of the Emergency Management Accreditation Program.

Michigan State University President Kevin Guskiewicz has announced that the university will reduce its general fund budget by 9% over the next two years, citing financial pressures that will result in the elimination of some staff and faculty positions in order to protect MSU’s long-term stability and student experience.
